Dublin homes we styled
Selected commissions where pets and family life share the same rooms. Each entry names the neighbourhood and describes the styling challenge — not a gallery of photographs, but a record of what changed on the ground.
- Portobello — Emerald Square mews
- A ground-floor mews with a stone threshold and two energetic terriers. We added a recessed boot bench, hook rail at human height only, and a runner in solution-dyed wool that hides canal-walk grit between weekly washes.
- Rathmines — Victorian top-floor flat
- Original ceiling roses and a single large tabby who preferred the bay window sill. We specified a claw-wrapped post beside the chimney breast and a low-profile sofa in performance velvet that matches the existing cornice cream.
- Merrion Square — Georgian drawing room
- Formal entertaining space used daily by a senior Labrador. Reversible seat cushions in herringbone tweed, raised water bowl niche in the sideboard joinery, and a discreet gate stored in the alcove cupboard when guests arrive.
- Drumcondra — 1930s semi with garden access
- Kitchen opens directly to a lawn used by a border collie. We replaced laminate with sealed engineered oak, added a pull-out feeding drawer, and hung a washable mud mat on a hinged panel that folds flat against the wall.
- Stoneybatter — Artisan cottage renovation
- Low ceilings and an open stair meant no room for a traditional crate. A built-under-stair den with ventilated door panels gives the rescue greyhound a den without blocking the original tongue-and-groove panelling.
- Blackrock — Coastal duplex
- Salt air and sandy paws from Seapoint walks. Outdoor-rated fabric on window seat cushions, brass hardware with lacquer finish, and a tiled entry niche sized for a dual leash and towel hook system.
- Phibsborough — Renting with restrictions
- Landlord would not permit fixed joinery. Freestanding modular shelving defines a cat highway above door height, and all seating uses slipcovers from our Dublin workroom so the tenant can take them to the next flat.
- Donnybrook — Family kitchen extension
- Three children, one golden retriever, and a cat who steals counter space. Durable quartz worktops, rounded island corners, and a dedicated lower cupboard for kibble bins on soft-close hinges the toddler cannot slam.
